Here are some tips on how to get the best performance out of Lightroom. Credit goes to Matt Kloskowski and his 5 Tips to Speed Up Lightroom video for pointing out some of these tips.

Although I was talking specifically about Lightroom this afternoon I actually use this for very few pictures now - and I use Photoshop even less! I wouldn't be without either but if push came to shove I’d manage.

1. Open up the image file in Photoshop CC.
2. Double click on the background layer.  A new layer window opens. The layer is now called “Layer 0”. Click OK.
