This year’s AGM was affected by a significant number of apologies for absence but about half of club members were present. The presentation of trophies included one to Kathy Drance as the most improved photographer and another to Norman Kirby for outstanding service to the club. All other winners had been announced previously.
The formal business included a vote on the perennial question of scoring in competitions with the vote favouring the retention of the status quo where awards are made for a judges pick, high commended and commended images. After the usual reports the new committee was approved with existing members continuing to serve and Krissie Byng being elected vice-chairman. The publicity seat remained vacant. The programme for next season was revealed and members approved an informal introduction of a “members’ choice” vote alongside the internal competitions in the new season.
Following the AGM the photographic equipment auction was relaunched after a five-year absence with all proceeds going to club funds. Activities will continue throughout the Summer although regular programmed meetings will not be held until September.
