Assign a Permanent Drive Letter to a USB Drive

  1. Click on the windows Start button (the windows icon on the task bar)
  2. Search: type Create and format
  3. Select Create and format hard disk partitions to take you to Disk Management
  4. Right click on the drive to be changed 
  5. Select Change Drive Letter and Paths
  6. Select Change
  7. Ensure Assign the following drive letter is checked
  8. Choose a letter: advised to start from M to avoid overlap with other drives
  9. Select OK
  10. A warning box will pop up, select Yes
  11. Go to Lightroom and help it find the missing drive
