A Day Seminar with Steve Gosling

Steve Gosling

This seminar will happen whatever the weather!

The workshops will visit Bosham for the day (this has been recommended by your members and I will do a recce before the workshop to familiarise myself with the location). We will meet at 9.30am in the public car park (PO18 8HL), left hand side Pay & Diplay. I will start the day with a brief introduction to the individuals and what they want out of the workshop. I'll also outline the workshop process. Some of this discussion may take place over a coffee break in a local café. We will then spend the day out & about photographing in the area finishing around 5.30 - 6.00pm.

What to bring - its probably best for participants to come prepared with a packed lunch & some liquid refreshment as its difficult to predict where we'll be at lunchtime. In terms of what else to bring - obviously their camera gear (as well as camera manuals) and a tripod would be a good start. Warm, windproof and waterproof clothing will also be essential (just in case!) and some sun tan cream (it is England after all). A pair of strong/comfortable boots or shoes would be useful and possibly a pair of wellies for working around/in the water (that's up to individuals and their willingness to wade!).

It would also be useful if the participants could bring a maximum of 6 prints with them so that if the weather takes a turn for the worse we can use thetime productively as I can then do a mini portfolio review. Participants can bring what they consider to be their best 6 prints or 6 shots they're not sure about and they want some feedback on (or any mix in between) - the choice is theirs. Hopefully the weather will co-operate and we won't need to resort to Plan B so I wouldn't want people to go to a lot of trouble and expense to produce the prints - I'm happy looking at anything from 6" x 4" prints to 20" x 16" mounted prints - whatever people have to hand and want to bring along.
