Successful Barbecue
Meeting Report
The day of the summer barbecue arrived with the weather looking decidedly 'dodgy'. However the rain held off until most people had finished their main course!
The event was held once more at Di Walker's house which has a very smart terrace which is just the right size to accomodate 28 members of our club sitting at tables.
Our Chairman Peter again cooked all the various meats, which he had provided for us, with enough for 'seconds' for several notable members who felt the need! There was a very good variety of salads and sauces provided by the attendees and every one agreed that the grub was first class.
Di and her friend John welcomed everyone and made sure they had drinks and somewhere to sit. John had provide the wine which he had bought at a very good price and brought with him from France where he lives.
Just as most people had just finished the main fare, the heavens opened and everyone fled into Di's Sitting room with their chairs and the party continued. Members had brought a mouth- watering variety of sweets and puds which were then consumed indoors.
All in all everyone had a great time and our thanks must go to Di for the use of her house and her hospitality and to John for his hard work and of course to our Chef Peter.
