Di Walker organises our Shoreham Photo Walk

Event
Meeting Report

Di chose the Sussex Yacht Club for the start and base for our photo walk which was very well situated for us to find lots of photographic material.

We met there at 10.30 for tea and coffee paid for by our Chairman. Di then gave us a welcome and suggested some of the places and sights in the immediate area which might encourage our photographic juices to flow. Tjhe weather was dry but bitterly cold and without any features in the sky what-so-ever, sadly.

However, we set off and did our thing, but I will be very interested to see what works of photographic splendour immerge from our midst. Nevertheless we all enjoyed having a go.

We returned to the club at 12.30 for a warm up, a drink and some very nice grub. My baked potato was the best i have had in a long time.

Thank you Di for settiing up the whole event for us. It was well attended by about fifteen or so members who all enjoyed the social 'get together'.

A few members had a very interesting visit to the Olympic Village site in Stratford on the day before which had been arranged through Steyning CC by the Steyning Millenium Trust. It was a very full and well arranged trip in a 53 seat coach seeing some very interesting sights, having a very nice lunch in an East End pub and finishing with a cuppa at the Woolwich Arsenal site where there were some more interesting sights to photograph.

We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day and I can recommend it as a different sort of day out. Anyone interestwed in doing the same thing one day in the future can get details from Charles Ashby on 01903 814049. The trips are booked up ahead until August which is another indication of how popular these trips are.
