Derek's Picture Collection
Meeting Report
This evening's meeting kicked off with some of Derek's slide shows. We were shown several collections of images, starting with a couple of short ones. The longer sequence which followed contained an eclectic mix of pictures, I don't think I have ever seen the Eurofighter Tornado and mating damsel flies in the same sequence before. Derek then picked out some of the images and explained what they were and how he had gone about shooting them.
Derek is one of our top photographers and his camera skills were shown in the images he presented. He is a keen natural history photographer (something which I don't have the patience for) and showed us some remarkable images of birds and insects.
A thoroughly enjoyable presentation. Next time I must remember to ask him to take that name badge off before I photograph him.
